Nathaniel Clyne could remain a Liverpool player beyond this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo.
The 28-year-old found himself sent out on loan midway through last season, joining Bournemouth in January.
The general consensus was that Clyne would almost certainly leave Liverpool in this transfer window, with former club Crystal Palace one of those keen on signing him.
Latest developments suggest the right-back may stay at Anfield, however, acting as backup to Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Although there is no talk of Clyne being offered a new deal, Liverpool are “under no pressure” to get rid of him.
It may be that the Englishman sees out his contract and leaves on a free transfer next summer, as has been the case with the likes of Emre Can, Alberto Moreno and Daniel Sturridge.
Should a bid come in for Clyne, there is still a chance Liverpool will accept it, but him staying would increase the depth in the Reds’ squad.
