Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has voiced his opinion about where current Alberto Moreno should end up next season.
Moreno was out of the first-team picture for the majority of the 2018/19 season, his place in the team was normally given to Andy Robertson who has proved himself to be one of Liverpool’s best defenders.
The Spaniard is set to leave Liverpool at the end of this month following a five-year spell at Anfield, and after this was announced, Nicol has made it clear where he wants the left-back to go next.
When Nicol was asked if Moreno could join Unai Emery’s Arsenal side, he told ESPN:
As a Liverpool fan, I hope so!
The ex-Liverpool player then went on to criticise Moreno’s decision making when compared to Robertson and was completely honest about his thoughts on the player:
Moreno can’t defend, the whole reason Liverpool brought in Robertson is so they could have someone who can actually defend.
Nicol, in a slightly more serious tone, then spoke about how Emery must know about Moreno’s downfalls and admitted he thinks it’s unlikely he would end up at Arsenal.
