Fabinho reveals which games changed his Liverpool career

Fabinho has revealed the two games he believes have made his Liverpool career so far ahead of the biggest yet – a Champions League Final – against Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid tonight.

The Reds go into their second consecutive final looking a much stronger outfit than last season and Fabinho believes the 1-1 draw against Arsenal and 3-1 win against Manchester United have been his most important in England so far.

Speaking ahead of the highly-anticipated clash, cited by the Independent, Fabinho pinpointed the two games as stand-outs for him in a Liverpool shirt.

I knew it would be difficult and there would be times when I would be out of the team. The two games in particular that stood out for me was the game against Arsenal [at the Emirates] – that’s when I really understood the speed of the Premier League and the attention to detail that is required. And in terms of building my confidence, the stand-out game was against Manchester United. I managed to get an assist in that game and I really kept up with the rhythm and pace. I think we were much superior to Manchester United.

The Brazilian is a fresh face from last year’s defeat to Real Madrid and has brought new-found energy to Jurgen Klopp’s midfield.

After a sustained period in the first part of the season where he was in and out of the team, Fabinho has truly established himself as a regular fixture in Klopp’s plans.

Playing a part in winning the Reds’ sixth European Cup at the Wanda Metropolitano tonight will certainly boost his ever-growing reputation amongst fans and pundits alike.
