Former France and Paris Saint-Germain winger Jerome Rothen has named his Liverpool-PSG combined XI – and there are a few surprises.
Published in L’Equipe (reported by the Daily Mirror), the 40-year-old named seven Reds and four PSG stars in his XI.
Alphonse Areola beats out both Alisson Becker and Gianluigi Buffon to the goalkeeper position, before Trent Alexander-Arnold gets in ahead of Dani Alves and Thomas Meunier.

Virgil Van Dijk gets in at centre back alongside Presnel Kimpembe, who is preferred to club captain Thiago Silva.
Andrew Robertson has the beating of Layvin Kurzawa at left-back, as an astonishing all-Liverpool midfield is then named.
Georginio Wijnaldum and James Milner are perhaps the expected choices, but Jordan Henderson’s inclusion suggests the Liverpool skipper is more popular with Rothen than his own manager.
Marco Verratti is snubbed, with teammate Adrien Rabiot also supposedly bested by JH14.
Strap in for the front three, folks.
I’m just going to say it. Mbappe, Mane, Cavani.
Jerome Rothen deemed Mohamed Salah and Neymar surplus to requirements in a Liverpool-PSG combined XI. Perhaps a cunning psychological ploy from the former PSG man, Reds fans will be left scratching their heads after this one.
