Manchester United legend Gary Neville has hailed Andy Robertson as an “unbelievable” footballer, as the Scot continues to shine for Liverpool.
Robertson arrived at Anfield to relatively low excitement levels back in 2017, having just been relegated with Hull City.
In the years since, however, he has matured into arguably the world’s best left-back, providing endless defensive solidity and attacking quality to the Liverpool team.
Someone who knows a thing or two about what makes a great full-back is Neville, having spent years at the top with United and England.
Speaking on Monday Night Football [via The Boot Room], he outlined what makes Robertson so special:
Robertson the left-back is unbelievable. Three or four years to do what he’s doing up and down that wing – intensity, quality and consistency.

It is nice to see Robertson receive such great praise on a very public platform, with the 26-year-old not always lauded as much as some of his teammates.
In many ways, he remains underrated, but he has been one of the Reds’ best players so far this season.
As a full-back, there are no weaknesses to his game and his influence in the side is enormous.
Liverpool bringing him in from Hull for just £8million is arguably one of their best pieces of business in years.
