Gary Neville has criticised Mohamed Salah after Liverpool’s defeat to Manchester City, labelling him as “frustrating”.
The Reds were humbled at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, losing 4-1 to Pep Guardiola’s side.
It was another performance that summed up Liverpool’s current struggles, with their Premier League title hopes now all but over.
Salah scored the Reds’ goal from the penalty spot, but speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast after the game [via the Metro], Neville laid into the Egyptian:
Salah. How many times does he give it away in the opposing half of the pitch where he tries to beat people? It’s frustrating. You see the rest of his team-mates frustrated. Mane as well, Firmino.

I think this is extremely harsh criticism from Neville, with far more players blameless than the 28-year-old on Sunday.
For starters, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino were hugely ineffective, while Alisson had a disaster in the Liverpool goal.
Granted, it wasn’t a vintage Salah display, but he looked more like making things happens than almost anyone else for the Reds.
He has scored 22 goals this season and was recently exceptional away to West Ham – he is the least of Liverpool’s worries at the moment.
