Liverpool have been given a huge boost in their hunt for target Faouzi Ghoulam from Napoli, with the player’s agent telling Italian media he believes his client will not extend his current deal, which expires in the summer.
The Algerian left back, 26, will be free to speak to other European clubs in January and could potentially sign a pre-contract agreement with a team outside of Italy, with Liverpool and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City both showing a real interest in the defender.

Talking to the Italian media, Ghoulam’s agent, Mario Giuffredi said:
I don’t think Ghoulam will renew with Napoli, and it’s enough to think that in four months, he’ll be able to sign for whoever he wants for nothing.
Jurgen Klopp boosted his defensive options over the summer but signing Scottish international Andrew Robertson from Hull for £10 million whilst he also has Alberto Moreno and James Milner as left-back options.
However, that does not necessarily mean that Ghoulam will not be of interest as the futures of both Moreno and Milner are hardly set in stone at this point.
