Gianluigi Donnarumma could be a Liverpool target

Liverpool may look to solve their goalkeeper woes by signing AC Milan star Gianluigi Donnarumma, according to reports.

The Merseyside club look poised to sign a goalkeeper with boss Jurgen Klopp likely to sell Simon Mignolet.

PSG and Real Madrid have also shown an interest in the young Italian who has had a superb season for the Milan side.

The Italian international looks set to leave the San Siro, with Liverpool legend Pepe Reina joining as his replacement.

Reports in Italy suggest the Reds could land the 19-year-old goalkeeper but the result of the Champions League final will be key to any possible deal happening. Liverpool will take on Real Madrid in the final on May 26th in Kiev.

Victory in the final would see big targets join the Reds this summer, with their stock likely to rise if they can beat Zidane’s men.

The 19-year-old signed a new contract at Milan last year but with AC Milan having another poor season, he looks set to leave for another European club that has Champions League football.

AC Milan chief Massimiliano Mirabelli recently said Donnarumma may be allowed to leave.

We must protect Donnarumma and we’ll protect him to the end.

He told Mediaset Premium.

After that, as with all the other players, we’ll see what happens. He is part of the club’s heritage and we wouldn’t let go of him easily, unless of course someone values him the way he must be valued. If a good enough offer arrived, any of our players could be sold. There are far richer clubs out there and we have to choose other paths. Let’s not kid ourselves that we can return to being the Serie A of the past that attracted so many champions. We never will attract them. It’ll be very difficult.
