Liverpool are continuing their pursuit of Inter Milan midfield Mateo Kovacic but the Italian club are not willing to do business unless they receive a bid in excess of €25 million.
However, Inter will be willing to accept a lower bid if the Merseyside club add defender Martin Skrtel as part of the deal, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Skrtel has spoken out about his disappointment of the new contract he was offered by Liverpool and may be looking for a move.
The Slovakian defender was an ever-present figure in Liverpool’s back line last season.
Kovacic is apparently well liked by manager Brendan Rodgers so a part-exchange deal can work out well for both sides.
The 21-year-old Croatian international was in fine goalscoring form last season and renewed his contract in January.
