Jurgen Klopp, speaking at his press conference ahead of Liverpool’s trip to face Sheffield United, revealed that James Milner suffered a slight back injury during the 2-0 win over MK Dons on Wednesday evening.
Milner, who opened the scoring in the game, took a blow to the back during the Carabao Cup Third Round clash, but Klopp said the issue is only minor and that he still thinks his vice-captain will be available for selection at Bramall Lane.
Milner played at left-back on Wednesday and was one of Liverpool’s best players as they made their way safely into the Fourth Round, where they’ll face Arsenal at home.
However, with Andy Roberston almost certain to start against Sheff United, Milner’s best chance of starting the game will be in his usual midfield position.
Having played 90 minutes on Wednesday, plenty of fans expect Milner to be left out of the starting line-up but it looks like e should be fit enough to be on the bench.
