James Milner looks set to miss Liverpool’s game with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night with the hamstring issue that forced him off during the first half of The Reds’ 0-0 draw with Everton at Goodison Park.
Speaking after the game, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revealed that the club medical staff think that Milner’s issue isn’t too serious but he’s unlikely to feature at Anfield on Wednesday evening.
As reported by the Express, he said:
Millie felt his hamstring a bit. Maybe [he won’t be fit for] Wednesday but after that, I’d hope [he’ll be back].
If Manchester City fail to beat Burnley at the Etihad this evening, then Liverpool could win the title at Anfield on Wednesday evening, but they’ll need to play that game without Milner.
The good news for Liverpool is that they expect to have Andy Robertson back fit for the visit of the Eagles, so he should be able to slot straight into the left-back position vacated by the injured Milner, whilst Mohamed Salah should be fit to start the game too.

With Robertson back fit, he should slot back in at left-back for the Reds, so Milner’s absence shouldn’t be too much of a hindrance there.
Whether he’d have started in midfield is debatable too, but if the title happens to be on the line on Wednesday evening, then Klopp might have wanted the veteran to be on the pitch to control any nerves.
It would also be nice for Milner to be on the pitch if the title is won, but that won’t be the case.
