Liverpool defender Joel Matip has been sent to a local hospital for tests on a shoulder injury which he suffered late on in the win over Napoli.

Matip was involved in a collision in the final seconds of the game as the Reds hung on to claim a 1-0 win, one which sees them advance to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Matip, along with Virgil van Dijk, was in great form as Liverpool kept the Italians at arm’s length for the majority of the game, and he was starting to look settled in the team as he made his third consecutive start.
However, the injury will now make him a major doubt for the weekend’s clash with Manchester United, although the full details of the damage he has done to the shoulder still remain unknown at this time.
