Joel Matip is still a doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League meeting with Tottenham, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.
The Reds host Jose Mourinho’s side on Wednesday night, with the pair level on points at the top of the table.
Matip was replaced at half-time in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw at Fulham on Sunday, leading to doubts surrounding his involvement in the Spurs game.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Klopp said that a decision will be made on the 29-year-old nearer kickoff:
The physios worked pretty much 24 hours on him. We will see.

Having Matip available would be a massive boost for Liverpool – his involvement, or lack thereof, could have a big say on the eventual result.
The Cameroonian has been excellent this season, when fit, forging a strong centre-back partnership with Fabinho.
If Matip is out, it could mean having to start Nathaniel Phillips or Rhys Williams, or even playing Jordan Henderson, which is far from ideal.
That would immediately strengthen Spurs’ hopes of victory, as they look to end Liverpool’s long home unbeaten run in the league.
