Jurgen Klopp admitted he has “no words” for Gini Wijnaldum, following another excellent performance against Ajax.
The Reds won 1-0 at Anfield on Tuesday evening, with Curtis Jones’ goal the difference between the two teams.
Wijnaldum was again an influential performer in the middle of the park, having almost been an ever-present this season.
While many others have picked up injuries, threatening to derail Liverpool’s campaign, the Dutchman has arguably been the most reliable player in the squad.
Speaking after the Ajax game, Klopp showed this love for Wijnaldum, literally running out of superlatives for him:
Gini – I have no words for him to be honest.

It looks likely that Wijnaldum will leave Liverpool at the end of the season, but on current evidence, the Reds should do all they can do make him sign a new deal.
The 30-year-old can go under the radar at times, but his quality, consistency and injury record make him a priceless player.
In decades to come, others will be remembered more, such as Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, for example, but Wijnaldum’s impact should always be treasured, too.
