Jurgen Klopp has hailed Takumi Minamino as an “incredible player”, following his move to Southampton.
The Japanese completed a loan move to Saints on Monday night, just prior to the transfer window slamming shut.
Regular playing time has been hard to come by for Minamino this season, with the 26-year-old making only two Premier League starts to date.
Klopp clearly saw it as beneficial to loan out the forward, but speaking to the media on Tuesday, he hinted that he is a long-term prospect for Liverpool:
Klopp on Minamino loan:
Takumi is an incredible player, we didn't give him enough chances, that's the truth.

There is no denying that Minamino has found it tough in England to date, having shone so much for RB Salzburg, including at Anfield in the Champions League last season.
Hopefully, his spell at Southampton will see him earn plenty of starts, as he continues to adapt to life in a new country, under a talented manager in Ralph Hasenhuttl, whose playing style isn’t dissimilar to Klopp’s.
It was hard to see where regular football was going to arrive at Liverpool for the time being, especially with Diogo Jota on the road to recovery.
