According to Calcio Mercato, Juventus have agreed personal terms with Schalke defender and Liverpool target, Benedikt Howedes.
It has been a summer to forget for Liverpool and their fans in terms of their pursuit of a centre-back, with long-term target, Virgil van Dijk, looking like he’s staying at Southampton or moving elsewhere and now Howedes looking very likely to join Italian giants Juventus.
Liverpool have been in the market for a new central defender all summer as the likes of Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan not being up to standard and with defence has cost them in many games last campaign.

Juventus were looking to fill the gap which Leonardo Bonucci left this summer, after his move to AC Milan and now they look like they have found their man in Howedes.
The 29-year-old German joined Schalke’s junior side in 2001 from SG Herten and since then, he’s worked his way up the ranks and made it into the senior team in 2007, where he has made 380 appearances in all competitions, scoring 23 and assisting 13, becoming a key figure at Schalke.
He has also got 44 caps for Germany, winning the World Cup with them in 2014.
