Jurgen Klopp fails to rule key Liverpool trio out of Reds’ clash with Chelsea

Alisson, Fabinho and Diogo Jota could be all be available for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Chelsea, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The Reds face one of their biggest games of the season on Thursday night, as they welcome Thomas Tuchel’s side to Anfield.

The champions sit sixth in the table currently, knowing that victory over Chelsea will put them above the west Londoners.

Speaking to the reporters on Wednesday, Klopp said Alisson and Fabinho would be in the squad, while Jota will be assessed closer to kickoff, following illness.

This is hugely positive news for Liverpool, with their injury woes finally showing signs of easing.

Alisson and Fabinho returning to the back-line should make the Reds far more formidable against Chelsea, with the two Brazilians such key players.

Fabinho could partner either Ozan Kabak or Nathaniel Phillips at centre-back, with the midfield area already well-stocked without him.

Should Jota be passed fit, he will likely start on the substitutes’ bench, potentially affecting the match during the second half.

The pressure is now on Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino to perform consistently, now that the Portuguese is available again.
