Klopp intending to keep Liverpool’s style the same against City

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he won’t change his team’s style against Manchester City this week in the last eight of the Champions League, as per a report from the Daily Mail.

City have dominated the Premier League this season and are set to win the title this weekend, but Klopp is determined to keep his side playing the same way.

Liverpool remain the only team to beat them in the Premier League this season despite different tactics being used against them by various clubs.

The Reds boss has no plans to change the way he plays despite Pep Guardiola’s side being so impressive this season.

Klopp will hope to have Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah all in top form for this one, with the trio having excelled for much of this season to date.

Klopp spoke about how he plans to treat this match in a recent interview:

The way we attack the opponent, the way we defend high is unpleasant (for our opponents). If we do that well they will have some difficulty coping with it.

It will be very exciting. There’s no guarantee this will work. In the end it’s the lads on the pitch who will decide the game.

He continued and went on to add:

It’ll be about doing more things right than the opponents, because you can’t simply defend against City and hope that they won’t score on the day. They’re just too good.
