Jurgen Klopp will “put his faith” in Rhian Brewster next season, rather than spend big on a new striker, according to the Mirror.
The 19-year-old is seen as one of English football’s brightest stars, and one of the best to have played in Liverpool’s Academy in years.
Brewster has missed over a year of action because of injury, otherwise his progress would likely be even greater.
Now fully fit again, the young striker will play a full part in pre-season and is considered a key squad player from this point onwards.
Although there are some calls for Klopp to bring in a top class player to rival Roberto Firmino, that is highly unlikely to happen.
That is due to Brewster’s potential, with the former Chelsea youngster someone who his manager has total faith in.
It may even be that the teenager ends up being second-choice to Firmino, should he excel this summer.
Daniel Sturridge will leave Liverpool after six and a half years at the club, while there is still uncertainty over Divock Origi’s future.
Brewster was the top scorer at the U17 World Cup in 2017, finding the net eight times as England earned glory.
