Lazar Markovic joins Hull City on loan

Lazar Markovic has returned from Sporting Lisbon after his loan deal was ended.

The Serbian has now joined Hull City until the end of the season.

The winger had a hit-and-miss time at Liverpool before going on loan in Turkey and then Portugal. Now the 22-year-old is set to try his hand in the Premier League.

It appears to be a statement from Jurgen Klopp, who did have the chance to recall Markovic and add him into the current squad.

He may well have come in handy during the absence of Sadio Mane, who’s at the AFCON with Senegal.

But Klopp has declined that option and sanctioned another loan deal at Hull City.

Hull recently appointed Marco Silva as their manager after Mike Phelan departed the club and he’ll be pleased to add some strength to his squad during this window.

It remains to be seen whether Markovic will ever return to Liverpool, but this opportunity for him to gain six months of Premier League experience could be vital for him, if he aspires to do so.
