Lazar Markovic moves to Anderlecht

Liverpool’s fringe player Lazar Markovic has managed to find a club before the deadline and has joined Belgian club Anderlecht on loan until the end of the season.

After a move for the out of favour midfielder fell through to Swansea earlier on in the day, he has now got his transfer and can compete to play at the World Cup in the summer.

The Serbian winger since joining Liverpool in 2014, has been on loan at a number of clubs including Fenerbahce and Hull City.

Markovic was never really in favour with Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and will join up with the Anderlecht team to face Mechelen on Sunday.

The former Tigers man will be looking to help his new club catch the league leaders Club Brugge who are currently twelve points above them.

Markovic leaves Anfield along with Philippe Coutinho and Daniel Sturridge with just two signings arriving on Merseyside, Virgil Van Dijk, and Tony Gallacher – a teenage Scottish left back.
