Leeds to increase bid for winger Ryan Kent

Leeds United are set to increase their bid for ex-Liverpool winger Ryan Kent, according to a report from Football Insider.

The newly-promoted Premier League club are believed to be working on a second offer for Rangers’ in-form attacker after their opening bid of £10million was rejected last week.

Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa is keen to take Kent to Elland Road and an improved bid could have an impact on Liverpool’s transfer activity.

The Reds placed a 20% sell-on clause as part of the £7 million deal taking Kent to Ibrox in 2019, meaning Jurgen Kopp’s transfer kitty could receive a timely boost if any deal is completed.

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are said to have identified a replacement as they prepare themselves for the possibility of losing the 23-year-old, although last week Gerrard did tell the media Kent was not for sale.

The former Red who came through the academy system at Anfield was in fine form once again over the weekend as he scored in his sides 2-0 victory over Kilmarnock, perhaps adding to his price along the way.

Whilst Gerrard and everybody else associated with the Ibrox club will be desperate to keep hold of their man, it seems Leeds’ interest is not going away anytime soon.
