Liverpool have reportedly been handed a boost in the race for Arsenal and Barcelona target Luan as it appears that the release clause in his contract equates to less than £20 million.
Luan Guilherme de Jesus Vieira, better known simply as Luan, is a Brazilian striker or attacking midfielder who currently plies his trade for Brasileiro Serie A side Gremio.
According to Brazilian outlet Globo Esporte, Liverpool target Luan has had a new release clause inserted into his contract this week, as Gremio made sacrifices in the deal so that they wouldn’t lose him on a free transfer next summer.

Luan’s contract was coming up to expiration so Gremio reportedly agreed to lower the release clause in his new contract, meaning it now sits at just £16 million.
The forward has scored five goals and provided six assists in 17 league games for Gremio this season, with the club sitting in fourth place in Brazil’s highest division.
He is described by WhoScored as being a great passer of the ball with the vision required to pull off accurate through balls. His hold-up play is also reported to be excellent, as is his finishing.
He is said to be reluctant to come back and defend but loves to run with the ball and cuts inside frequently.
