Liverpool and Manchester United are both interested in signing Renato Sanches, according to Gazzetta dello Sport [via Sport Witness].
The 23-year-old won the European Golden Boy award back in 2016, with some viewing him as a future superstar with a career at the top.
Sanches has failed to kick on properly since then, however, not cutting the mustard at Bayern Munich, before also flopping on loan at Swansea City.
The Portugal international is now at Lille, where he has found his feet to an extent, with top clubs linked with signing him.
Liverpool and United are thought to be front-runners in that respect – the Reds have already been linked in the recent past – with the latter now joining the race.

Although Sanches’ reputation has diminished in recent years, it is still easy to forget that he is still only 23.
The Portuguese has undoubted ability, as highlighted by his aforementioned Golden Boy win, so he could be worth persevering with.
Jurgen Klopp is a master at getting every ounce out of players, so the Liverpool manager may feel he can work his magic with the attacking midfielder.
It remains to be seen if the Reds’ interest is concrete, but it is a transfer story worth keeping an eye on.
