Liverpool are among a host of top clubs who have been bidding for David Alaba since January, according to Sport [via Sport Witness].
The Bayern Munich star has confirmed that he will leave the European champions at the end of the season, following a decade there.
Given Alaba’s pedigree, numerous top sides have been linked with a move for him, including Liverpool.
It is claimed that Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint-German are all interested, too, and that the clubs ‘began bidding’ last month.
Madrid appear to be the favourites to sign the Austrian, who has been named his country’s Footballer of the Year an amazing seven times.

The idea of Alaba in a Liverpool shirt is an exciting one, considering his quality as a player. His versatility also means he is able to thrive at left-back, centre-back and in midfield.
He has arguably been one of the best left-backs of his generation, and at 28, he still has plenty to offer.
Alaba could demand huge wages, however, which has the potential to put paid to a move to Liverpool, as well as his desire to join Madrid.
If Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards managed to get a deal over the line, however, it could prove to be a masterstroke.
