Liverpool have today announced that Nathaniel Clyne has joined the club.
A fee reported to be in the region of £10.5 million rising to £12.5 million has been accepted by Southampton.
The right-back joins Liverpool on a long-term deal from Southampton and will join last summer’s arrivals Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren and Adam Lallana who also joined from the Saints.
With Glen Johnson being released earlier this month, it seems Liverpool have moved swiftly once again to swoop for his replacement and seal their sixth signing of the summer.
The 24-year-old joined Southampton from Crystal Palace in 2012. He made his debut as a teenager for the Eagles in the Championship and won the team’s Player of the Year award in the 2010-11 season.
His development continued at the St. Mary’s stadium as he established himself as a key member of the team.
He has also recently broken into the England set-up after making his debut in October 2014.
