The agent of Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour has said that Liverpool are one the clubs showing interest in his client.
But if Liverpool are serious about acquiring the Tunisian international’s services, they will face competition from a number of European clubs including AC Milan and FC Barcelona. His agent, Abdelkader Jilani, told FootMercato:
“There are lots of big clubs interested in Abdennour.
“There are clubs that have approached us and who will come in contact with Monaco. There is AC Milan, Inter Milan, Barca and Liverpool.
“I do not think Monaco will oppose a departure for Aymen.”
The French club may have to sell the player should a sufficient bid come in as they are struggling to keep up with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. They have already sold highly-rated Geoffrey Kondogbia to Inter Milan.
It is thought that a bid of £10 million will be enough to prize Abdennour away.
The 25-year-old joined on Monaco from Toulouse after initially impressing on a loan.
He has gone on to establish himself as a key member in defence and made 24 appearances last season, scoring one goal.
He is also a regular for the Tunisian national team and has accumulated over 30 appearances for them.
