Liverpool are “very unlikely” to sign world superstar Kylian Mbappe this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo‘s Ian Doyle.
The Paris Saint-Germain superstar has been linked with the Reds continually this season, with his future in France still undecided.
Mbappe could extend his stay at PSG, but if not, he will likely be sold this summer, considering his current deal runs out in the summer of 2022.
Doyle doesn’t see the 22-year-old heading to Anfield, however, unless one of the front-three forces a move out of the club:
The only way Liverpool could afford Mbappe or anyone like him is if they sold one of their leading players, and that would only happen if said player agitated for a move and someone coughed up the big bucks.
So Mbappe and Liverpool looks nice in a headline but remains a very unlikely transfer. But I’ve long learned to never rule anything out completely.

It does seem more likely that Mbappe will either stay at PSG or join Real Madrid, considering what an astronomical amount of money he could cost.
Liverpool would surely find it tough to sign him unless Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino moved on – something that doesn’t appear to be on the cards at the moment.
If the Reds don’t bring in Mbappe, they still need to make a major addition to their attack, however, in order to keep thing fresh.
Diogo Jota has come in and been a great signing and somebody else top class would put further pressure on Salah, Mane and Firmino for playing time.
Leeds United forward Raphinha has been linked in recent days and is a good example of the quality required.
