Liverpool are reportedly going head-to-head with Tottenham Hotspur to sign one of Germany’s best prospects — David Philipp of Werder Bremen.
According to the Mirror, both Liverpool and Spurs have contacted the Bundesliga club about the young attacking midfielder, who is one of the most sought-after young talents in the Bundesliga.

Phillip, 17, scored 18 goals and provided 21 assists for Bremen’s under-17 side last season and the club’s academy director Bjorn Schierenbeck recognises that that kind of form will bring interest from elsewhere:
I wouldn’t want to rule out the interest in David from the English clubs.
But I don’t know exactly how firm it is. We would be very eager to continue working together with David.
Philipp is in the last year of his contract with the Bundesliga side who currently sit second from bottom, with two points in five games.
He last played internationally at under-15 level with Germany, but is expected to soon make the step up to under-17 level for his country.
As well as playing in central attacking midfield, Philipp can play on either wing and stands at a height of 5’9″ — taller than Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, but shorter than Reds midfielder Emre Can.
