Liverpool have been given a boost in their potential pursuit of Jules Kounde, with Manchester United not keen on meeting his £68million release clause.
The Sevilla centre-back is considered one of the most exciting young defenders in Europe, having shone for the La Liga side this season.
Liverpool have been linked with acquiring Kounde’s signature in the past, seeing him as one of a number of centre-back options to come in this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, United are reluctant to meet the 22-year-old’s hefty release clause, paving the way for Liverpool to trigger it, should they choose to.

Kounde’s price tag is the obvious issue with regards to signing him, but if Jurgen Klopp and Michael Edwards believe he is worth it, it could be a move that materialises.
One issue is that the Frenchman is likely to expect to start regularly, which also applies to Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez, when they are back from injury.
It may be that more of a squad option comes in, or somebody not quite as highly-rated and expensive, allowing the Van Dijk-Gomez partnership to continue to flourish.
There is no denying Kounde’s amazing potential, however, having averaged an 89.4 percent pass completion rate in La Liga this season, also winning three aerial duels per game, showing he is a force with and without the ball.
