French news outlet Le10 Sport have claimed Liverpool are one of a number of clubs interested in Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of much speculation in recent weeks with the likes of AC Milan, Manchester United, Arsenal, and Newcastle all reportedly interested in him.
However, this latest report claims that Jurgen Klopp’s side are ready to step into the race to land the highly-rated Lille man, who has made himself a mainstay for the Ligue 1 side since arriving from PSG in 2017.
The midfielder, who has been capped at Under-21 level by France, has made 53 league appearances for Lille and has found himself on a number of European clubs’ radars this summer.

Although it seems unlikely the Premier League champions will be shelling out on big transfers this summer, Soumare could be available for around the £35 million mark, and with more departures from Anfield expected, the Reds may just be able to fund the deal.
As Liverpool continue to be linked with Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara it seems unlikely a move for Soumare would materialise alongside Thiago’s arrival.
However, should the move for the Spaniard, who recently won the treble with the German club, fall through, the young Frenchman may be an adequate second option as Klopp attempts to build a squad fit to defend the Premier League title in 2020/21.
Soumare ticks many boxes as he is a player of high quality with the ball and a tenacious midfielder who has relentless energy, a perfect fit in many ways.
