Liverpool are eyeing up a potential summer move for Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina, according to a report from French outlet L’Equipe.
The 24-year-old midfielder has been one of very few bright sparks for Southampton during a difficult season under Mauricio Pellegrino and it seems like his performances have not gone unnoticed.
Lemina, who started his career in France, signed a contract until 2022 when he moved to St Mary’s, but as Liverpool are fully aware, the South Coast side are willing to sell contracted players if the price is right.

Since June 2014, the Reds have signed six players from the Saints; Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Dejan Lovren, Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk, and Lemina could become the seventh name added to that list.
Southampton are in a relegation dog fight and if they go down, Lemina will almost certainly be available.
If they manage to stay up, it’ll be interesting to see if they are willing to deal with Liverpool after the summer saga that surrounded Van Dijk.
