Roberto Firmino has enjoyed a superb Liverpool career since joining from Hoffenheim in the summer of 2015.
Having initially been played out of position by Brendan Rodgers, the Brazilian has flourished under Jurgen Klopp, epitomising everything great about this Reds team.
Selfless, gifted, a scorer of big goals and possessing a fantastic team ethic, Firmino has led the line superbly in a ‘false nine’ role, scoring 76 goals in 228 appearances for Liverpool.
Although he doesn’t always make the same number of headlines as Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, he is arguably just as important, linking everything together and getting the very best out of his teammates.
His ability to drop deep creates space for the African pair in behind, while his commendable work-rate helps out the midfield.
Speaking to talkSPORT, however, former Reds midfielder Murphy described Firmino as ‘replaceable’, saying Kylian Mbappe would be a better option:
"Van Dijk is the most irreplaceable." ✅
"Is he (Firmino) replaceable? Yes!"
"If Mbappe was playing up front with Mane and Salah that would be more scary." 👍
Danny Murphy says Virgil Van Dijk is more irreplaceable at Liverpool than Roberto Firmino. 🔴

These Liverpool supporters have been left bemused by Murphy’s comments, also hailing Firmino for his brilliance.

Firminho defends from the front, everything he does makes Salah and Mane better.
