Liverpool fans have had to endure more than their fair share of injury hardship this season and they were dealt another dose as Jurgen Klopp confirmed that an important trio would miss the weekend trip to Leicester City.
The Reds will be without Fabinho for the crunch top four clash at the King Power Stadium, while Diogo Jota and Naby Keita will remain sidelined for another while yet.
Jota had been expected to return sooner, but the manager claimed it would still be two or three weeks before the Portuguese winger is back in contention, in an updated shared via James Pearce on Twitter.
Klopp on Jota: "Diogo is close but not as close as Naby."
Says it will be "2 to 3 weeks maybe" before he's available. #LFC— James Pearce (@JamesPearceLFC) February 12, 2021
The 24-year-old’s early-season form coincided with perhaps Liverpool’s best performances, something which is not lost on many clued-up Reds. His injury is all the more galling as it stemmed from his involvement in the dead rubber Champions League clash against Midtjylland two months ago.
Fed up of the constant travails with injuries this term, a number of Kopites have vented their frustrations on Twitter…
