On Tuesday, Liverpool were touted for a move for Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish, who has also been linked with a switch to both Manchester clubs.
The report from The Mirror claims that the Reds are hoping to entice the Villa captain to Anfield with the promise of Champions League football.
Often controversial and always at the forefront of his team’s performances, Grealish has been at his enchanting best at times this season, perhaps never more so than during the 7-2 trouncing of the Premier League champions in October.
The 25-year-old is well renowned for his commitment to his current employers as a boyhood supporter of the Midlands club, but it is widely expected that he will move on in order to achieve his career ambitions eventually. Indeed, Villa saw fit to impose an £80m asking price on him over the summer, such was the demand they came to expect.
Jurgen Klopp imparts certain demands on his players, in particular his midfielders. Whether the mesmerising Grealish would be able to match the work rate and selflessness required would be up for debate.
These Kopites have had their say on the transfer links, with some rather polarised opinions being offered…
