A number of Liverpool supporters have been reacting to new VAR statistics, highlighting how unfortunate the Reds have been this season.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have battled in the face of adversity for much of 2020/21 to date, as they look to defend their Premier League title.
Not only has VAR gone against them numerous times, including in stoppage time away to both Everton and Brighton, but they have also had to put up with endless injuries.
Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are long-term casualties, but Liverpool have been without the likes of Alisson, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Thiago, Naby Keita and Diogo Jota at different times, too.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s Dale Johnson produced a fascinating thread on Twitter, showing how VAR has affected the 20 top flight teams so far this season.
It shows how Liverpool have been more adversely affected by it than most, with no team having more overturns go against them, for example.

You mean VAR is not going to win us the league this year, gutted we will have to win it the old fashion way by getting more points then the rest. pic.twitter.com/miuPHhPtWX
