A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting to a photo of Virgil van Dijk continuing his injury recovery in Kirkby.
The Dutchman has been a colossal loss for the Reds this season, having suffered cruciate ligament damage away to Everton, following an awful tackle by Jordan Pickford.
Jurgen Klopp’s men have battled on bravely without him, but additional injuries to the likes of Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Fabinho have made it impossible for Liverpool to mount a serious defence of their title.
Van Dijk has been working on his recovery in Dubai, but is now back at the Reds’ new AXA Training Centre.
On Monday, the 29-year-old posted a photo on Instagram showing him in the pool in Kirkby, as his recovery slowly edges closer.
