A number of Liverpool fans have been reacting to images of Joe Gomez’s knee, highlighting the severity of his injury.
The 23-year-old is out for the rest of the season after picking up a serious injury in England training back in November.
It was the latest cruel setback for Gomez, who has suffered rotten luck with fitness issues down the years, including cruciate ligament damage when Jurgen Klopp first arrived at Liverpool.
The centre-back has been a huge loss, along with Virgil van Dijk, with the Reds having to field Fabinho at centre-back, impacting hugely on the team’s all-round performances.
Gomez is continuing to work hard on his recovery, and on Thursday, he was shown in the gym at Liverpool’s training ground.
In some of the photos, the Englishman’s knee is visible, with huge scarring showing the significance of the injury.
