Liverpool have no plans to offer Mohamed Salah new Reds deal, claims journalist

Liverpool have no current plans to offer Mohamed Salah a new deal, according to the Daily Mail‘s Dominic King.

The Egyptian’s Reds future has been a talking point in recent days, with the player himself claiming he is happy at the club.

That being said, Salah also stated that the ball is very much in Liverpool’s court, suggesting he may not stay put if a new contract isn’t offered.

King claims that there are ‘no immediate plans to offer contract renewals’ to the 28-year-old or other players, due to the financial situation, but that should change over time.

It is clearly a tough time for Liverpool in a monetary sense, with the virus affecting the world currently having a negative effect on the finances at Anfield.

The hope is that Salah will eventually be offered a new deal, however, given his incredible influence for the Reds over the past four seasons, with 111 goals scored in just 178 appearances.

Liverpool’s No.11 hasn’t exactly ruled out the possibility to leaving to join Real Madrid or Barcelona, however, so it does feel like a transfer story that could rumble on.

At 28, Salah remains a footballer at the peak of his powers, so the thought of him staying at Anfield for several more years, at least, is ideal.
