Liverpool are set to rebuff any advances to sign Simon Mignolet in the January transfer window, according to a report from the Liverpool Echo.
The experienced goalkeeper was keen to depart Anfield in the summer, with a season-long loan move to Napoli touted as a likely outcome for the Belgian international.
However, following Loris Karius’ loan move to Besiktas, Jurgen Klopp opted to retain the services of Mignolet in order to provide summer signing Alisson with sufficient cover.

This left the former Sunderland goalkeeper frustrated and ahead of the January window, speculation has surrounded his future once again.
Ligue 1 outfit OGC Nice are understood to be interested in completing a deal for the 30-year-old. However, as reported by the Echo, Liverpool are not likely to be willing to sanction Mignolet’s departure from the club midway through the season.
The Reds’ shot-stopper has not made a single appearance for his club this term but does not appear to be heading out the exit door any time soon.
