Liverpool and Hoffenheim have entered the final phase of negotiations for attacking midfielder Roberto Firmino and the transfer will exceed €25 million, according to Brazilian daily publication Globo.
The Brazilian international looks set to leave the German club this summer and his agent has recently revealed that he will be moving to England.
Reports emerged last week that Manchester United had agreed a fee of £13.1million with Hoffenheim for the purchase of Firmino but it seems those reports were inaccurate.
Any transfer for Firmino will be in excess of £25 million, and Manchester City are also monitoring the situation.
The 23-year-old is currently on international duty playing in the Copa America tournament, and will have to wait until the tournament’s conclusion for transfer talks to pick up.
Firmino’s agent, Roger Wittmann told BILD: “All I can say is that he’s moving to England.”
The player has been playing in Germany since 2011 and has developed swiftly to become one of Hoffenheim’s key players.
He made 35 appearances for the club last season, scoring 14 goals and making 10 assists.
