Liverpool launch 2026/27 home kit: Here’s how you can buy it now

Liverpool FC and Adidas have officially unveiled the club’s new home kit for the 2026/27 season. The fresh design draws direct inspiration from the iconic strip worn during the Reds’ memorable 1989/90 title-winning campaign.

Widely regarded as one of Liverpool’s most legendary Adidas strips, the original version is synonymous with a historic era. Under the management of Sir Kenny Dalglish, that dominant squad secured a record-breaking 18th league title the most of any English club at the time finishing a comfortable nine points clear at the summit.

A mmodern take on a classic design

The 2026/27 home jersey honors the original look by incorporating a subtle geometric pattern across the classic red body. The shirt is framed by clean white detailing on the collar, the trim, the Adidas branding, and the club crest.

As a permanent and vital tribute, the 97-emblem, encased by the eternal flames, sits proudly at the nape of the neck on the back of the shirt, honoring the children, women, and men who lost their lives in the Hillsborough disaster. The full kit is completed with traditional red shorts and matching red socks.

Alongside the main strip, Adidas has launched the domestic training range and a new goalkeeper kit, which features the same historic geometric pattern reimagined in a striking green colorway.

Legends past and present unite

To mark the launch, Liverpool brought together icons from both the past and the future. Club legends who defined the 1989/90 era—including Ian Rush, John Barnes, Alan Hansen, and Bruce Grobbelaarfeatured prominently in the official campaign.

They were joined by members of the current squad, including Florian Wirtz, Hugo Ekitike, and rising star Rio Ngumoha.

Champions League race and summer plans

The kit launch comes at a pivotal moment for Arne Slot’s side as they wrap up the current campaign. Liverpool will conclude their season this Sunday when they host Brentford at Anfield.

t has been an underperforming campaign for Slot’s team, but the head coach remains optimistic about the future. Slot recently emphasized that the upcoming transfer window will have a transformative impact on a roster currently lacking in pace and depth, setting the stage for a busy summer of reinforcements.

Where to buy the new kit

The 2026/27 home kit is available to purchase immediately, with prices at official club outlets frozen from last season.

Supporters eager to secure the new look can also purchase it online through Kitbag, one of the world’s leading football merchandise retailers. Kitbag offers official merchandise with options for personalised Premier League printing and patches.

They provide a range of flexible shipping methods, including UK express shipping and international delivery for overseas fans looking to grab the latest Adidas release ahead of the new season.

There is no denying that Adidas has knocked this out of the park. The geometric throwback to the 1989/90 season taps perfectly into the heavy dose of nostalgia that fans crave, and bringing back legends like Barnes and Rush alongside current stars makes for a brilliant launch. Freezing the price from last season is also a rare but highly welcome gesture for the fans.

Nostalgia is great, but fans will be desperately hoping that the players wearing this iconic design next season can actually replicate the fight, pace, and depth of the legendary team that inspired it. For now, all eyes turn to Manchester City’s game today and Anfield on Sunday because this beautiful kit deserves to be worn on Champions League nights, not in the Europa League.
