Liverpool are set to make increased compensation bid of £6 million for Danny Ings.
The Anfield club have already agreed terms with the striker and announced his impending arrival earlier this week, but they are yet to agree on a compensation fee with Burnley.
But according to The Mirror’s John Cross, Burnley will reject the £6m offer as they want £10m for the England Under-21 international.
The Clarets’ valuation of the player may have increased after Spurs’ bid of £12m.
Liverpool are still confident of not overpaying and are willing to settle the fee in a Premier League tribunal.
They will draw confidence from Tom Ince’s move to Hull City, which also went to a tribunal. Blackpool wanted circa £8m for the winger but Hull ended up paying only £2.3m through the tribunal.
Ings scored 11 goals for relegated Burnley last season and is currently in the England Under-21s squad preparing for the European Championship.
