Liverpool are ready to hijack Manchester United’s move for Brazilian international player Roberto Firmino, according to The Mirror.
Reports have emerged recently of Firmino’s wish to move to the Premier League and his agent has stated that he’s close to a move to a Premier League club.
German publications reported that that club was Manchester United, with some reports even stating that they had agreed a deal with his club Hoffenheim.
But Liverpool are now entering the race for the forward after monitoring the situation for some time with Brendan Rodgers considering a bid for the player.
With Raheem Sterling looking more and more likely to leave, Rodgers will be keen to invest in his squad and replace Sterling’s attacking threat.
Firmino fits the bill as he can play across the front three and has a keen eye for goal. The Brazilian made 33 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring seven goals and providing ten assists.
