Liverpool have made a £14.9m bid to Lyon for defender Emanuel Mammana, according to a report from journalist Emanuele Giulianelli.
Jurgen Klopp is keen to strengthen his squad this summer ahead of Champions League football returning to Anfield this season, and the Reds have apparently made an offer for the 21-year-old Argentinian international this week.
Giulianelli reports that Liverpool are willing to offer Mammana a five-year deal, paying himself around £55,000 a week.
The central defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League before, with Arsenal and Tottenham interested last summer, before the player made the switch from River Plater to Lyon.
The player himself is currently away on holiday back in Argentina and is believed to be waiting for permission from his current club to discuss personal terms with the Reds, as he wants the two clubs to reach an agreement before he talks with Liverpool officials.
It must be said that Emanuele Giulianelli’s record with transfer stories has been very hit and miss so it might be worth wanting for more reputable sources to confirm the bid before getting too carried away.
