Liverpool have made contact with the entourage of Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria, according to a report from Sky Germany, as cited by Inside Futbol.
Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United, plus Bundesliga super clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, have all reportedly made contact over a possible transfer for the Swiss international too, so there could be a race on for his signature.
Sky Germany reports that the 22-year-old is unlikely to leave Monchengladbach during the January transfer window, but it’s looking like he will be allowed to leave in the summer and if he keeps playing as well as he has been in recent weeks, then there will likely be plenty of teams sniffing around him.
Monchengladbach are reportedly looking for a transfer fee in excess of €50m for the midfielder.

Denis Zakaria is clearly a very talented player, so it makes sense that top clubs like Liverpool are interested in him. The Reds do have plenty of midfield options already, but with the likes of James Milner and Adam Lallana seemingly coming close to the end of their Anfield careers, it’s good to see Liverpool planning for the future by approaching younger players like Zakaria.
