Liverpool make €70m bid for Alisson

Liverpool have made an official bid for Roma goalkeeper Alisson, according to a report from Rome based outlet Il Messaggero.

Meanwhile, Corriere dello Sport say that Liverpool have told Alisson’s representatives about their willingness to splash the cash to sign the goalkeeper whilst, whislt adding that they believe that the Brazilian’s agent is in the UK to speak to Chelsea, but Alisson would prefer a move to Liverpool as they will be playing in the Champions League next season.

The Reds have apparently offered €60m up front plus a further €10m in add-ons for the Brazilian international, which puts them in ‘pole position’ to sign him.

Roma’s director of football, Monchi, has apparently made it known to suitors that he wanted €70m for his goalkeeper, but it remains to be seen if he’d be happy with the structure of Liverpool’s offer.

Chelsea are Liverpool’s main rivals for Alisson as it looks like they’re about to sell Thibaut Courtois, probably to Real Madrid. New Blues boss, Maurizio Sarri, had identified the 25-year-old as his prefered goalkeeping option to replace the outgoing Belgian, but his club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League may harm his chances.

However, if Chelsea can give Alisson more favourable terms than Liverpool, there is still every chance that he could decide to move to London.
