Transfer updates suggest that Curtis Jones could be on his way to Italy, while the Reds have begun negotiations with Adam Wharton. Plus, the weekend referee is confirmed.

Curtis Jones is on Inter Milan’s wishlist ahead of the transfer window. The man to replace him could be Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, who has been heavily touted for a move to Merseyside. In their trip to Old Trafford, the Reds are without Mohamed Salah and potentially Alisson.

1 – Curtis Jones Anfield exit is possible this summer

Curtis Jones remains one of the few players in the first team who is a product of the academy. He’s been a first-team regular for over five years at this point, but it could well be his last, with negotiations around his contract stalling, as he is set to enter the final 12 months.

The scouser has attracted interest from Italian giants Inter Milan once again, after they pursued a deadline-day move in January. Premier League teams are also expected to step up their interest as the season concludes. It’s believed the Reds would entertain a fee in the range of €35 million.

2 – Liverpool have began talks with Adam Wharton

Their answer to the void Jones could potentially leave would be answered by Englishman, Adam Wharton. The 22-year-old has been a standout in Oliver Glasner’s team, as he helped the Eagles lift their first major trophy last May winning the Emirates FA Cup, though it’s believed they want £80m for the midfielder

The Reds have struggled in the middle of the park throughout the campaign, and with injuries hitting them hard, players have had to fill in other areas. One of the hardest players to replace last year was Trent-Alexander Arnold. The Crystal Palace man could do the job.

3 – Arne Slot’s men travel to Old Trafford with injury doubts

The Dutch head coach spoke to the press ahead of the clash between the Reds and their bitter rivals, Manchester United, this weekend, and some fears Kopite’s had were increased. He confirmed the Egyptian King will miss out on the game, as it comes too early in his fitness timeline

He also confirmed that Alisson missed training and wouldn’t know if the Brazilian would be available until later that afternoon. Milos Kerkez also pulled up midweek with a slight knock. The 48-year-old believes it shouldn’t be too much to worry about before they met the Red Devils.

4 – Referee confirmed for the biggest fixture of the season

When Liverpool meet United, you can always expect a game full of strong battles, where a red card has been shown on several occasions, though Slot’s men will be hoping to keep it clean as Champions League qualification is in their grasp. The official for the weekend is Darren England.

He has referred three games which have featured the Merseyside outfit this season, where they have won twice, including the Merseyside derby back in September. In the seven games he’s managed United, they have gone on to win five, losing just once, which came last season.

A new mural has been spotted outside Anfield, which is the first to include the Reds’ amazing fullback, Andy Robertson, alongside Diogo Jota. The pair shared a strong bond during their time at the club, before the tragic loss of the Portuguese forward. Robertson previously spoke about how special he was

The artwork around the ground has become a special feature to supporters as they show off the iconic individuals who set the culture at the club. The recent one of the Scotsman highlights the legacy he has built on Merseyside, and even when he leaves in the summer, he will be remembered long beyond that.
