Liverpool have no deal in place to sign ex-Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah from AS Roma.
Football-Italia understands that despite recent rumours of a deal being close to completion, the two sides are still thought to be some way off an agreement.
Roma are demanding £35 million for the player and Liverpool have also begun to work on alternative transfer plans.
The AS Roma winger is being linked with a summer move to Anfield as Jurgen Klopp looks to bolster his squad ahead of the club’s return to the Champions League next season.
Salah appears to be one of the club’s main targets after reportedly ending their interest in Virgil van Dijk.
Whilst this is by no means Liverpool ending their interest in the player, a deal is perhaps not as close as some were suggesting.
The Reds have been linked with Southampton’s Dusan Tadic, who is available for £13 million, as a potential alternative.
