Liverpool set for injury boost if they make the Champions League final

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp does not believe Adam Lallana has played his last game this season, however, there is a concern that Emre Can may not return before the summer, according to a report from the Liverpool Echo.

The former Southampton man is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury but has started to step up his rehab following a return to Melwood.

Klopp is already eyeing a first-team return for Lallana in the final game of the season at Anfield against Brighton and Hove Albion.

Should Lallana make the Brighton fixture, it would mean that the midfielder would be available for the Champions League final if they can progress past Roma.

With Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain recently ruled out with a long-term injury, the return of Lallana is a huge boost for the Liverpool boss.

Can has been out since mid-March and with his contract coming to an end following this season it is becoming increasingly likely that he won’t play for the club again.

Klopp recently spoke about the injury situation:

Adam is here doing his fitness work. He’s not injured any more but he’s not fit yet. We hope still that one or two games might be possible for him. We will see.

Emre is a little bit further away. His rehab is improving a lot. It is much better, but it is quite close to the end of the season. I haven’t closed any doors on both of them. There is still a possibility.
